HELP WANTED
The new year is upon us and the Chapter needs more volunteers !
We are looking for someone with those creative genes and the know how to make things better ! We need people with new and creative ideas and the drive to make it happen !
We are looking for a Newsletter Chair and volunteers to help develop what goes into the newsletter. This past year the improvements to the newsletter won Georgia the National recognition award of “AMTA’s Best Chapter Newsletter” at the 2008 AMTA National convention.
The newsletter production is set up with a professional person to do layout for the newsletter. The volunteer is the person with the ideas and the oversight to manage the inputs. The Newsletter and the Web site are our primary information tools to our membership. Below is the description from our web site of this committee.
“The Newsletter Chair is responsible for developing ideas for articles and pictures for the newsletter. The Chair is the focal point for gathering materials for the newsletter, reviewing, and forwarding it to the contracted layout person. She or he is responsible for coordinating all Chapter inputs, contacting potential advertisers, and overseeing the layout of each newsletter. The Chair will ensure a Chapter Board review of the newsletter proof is accomplished before releasing it to the printer. She or he will coordinate and share any pertinent information with the Web Site Chair.”
We also looking for someone to help with the Fundraising Committee.
The Fundraising Chair is responsible for researching, designing, ordering and selling the Chapter's promotional items. The Chair will continuously keep the members desires for the type and variety of materials that best benefits our general membership needs. Materials will be made available for sale at Chapter meetings in efforts to not only provide marketing tools for our members but also to generate an additional income revenue which will benefit the bottom line of our budget.
This is very exciting and interesting way to get involved with your Chapter. Many therapists derive benefits from the AMTA and your state Chapter is the best way to help your profession and yourself by staying well informed by being part of the Chapter team! At the Chapter education and membership meetings around the state, many members get to know us and talk about getting involved with your Chapter. Please don’t be timid or uninvolved, make that effort and give us a call. Volunteers are given help and guidance to learn what to do in every position. Your Chapter is made up of Massage Therapists like you that want to help our profession and our association become more mainstream and better recognized. The current board needs your help to continue providing a quality newsletter. Please contact the 3rd Vice President at 3rdvp@amtaga.org. He has responsibility over new volunteers and he will get you started on your way as part of the Chapter team.
